Description : Male 3-4cm SVL, Female 5-7cm SVL, Tadpole 4.5cm TL. The Kajika frog is flat body, dark gray or brown in color. It has large toe pads.

Habitat : The kajika frog inhabits woodland along the open streams with lots of first-sized stones.

Breeding : They breed in May to June. Males call beautiful voice on the stones. The pairs get into stones and lay eggs. A female deposits some egg masses in 50-100 eggs each. Tadpoles eat algae, transform until September.

Range : This species occurs in midstream except costral part of Hiroshima.
