Homebuilt plane is my utmost dream

When I was ten years old our family travelled to Africa since then I have been

hooked on airplanes of all sorts and makes, my father was stationed in Ethiopia.

My first trip was on an Lockheed constellation which was owned by the Royal

Dutch Airlines,I remember as a child the plane flew from Tokyo to Cairo via many many

stops, and it took such a long time to get to the final destination. I remember we were

stuck in Cairo for a week because we had to wait for the parts for the DC-3 to arrive

so we could continue our ride to Addis Ababa Ethiopia. There are many nice memories

regarding that trip. My first big airshow that I went was at le bourget airport in Paris in

1959. I built lots and lots of model planes in my schoolboy days, and got married at 29

and I was busy earning for a living, since our children became independent and left the

house, I started to travel around and one day when I was in Mongolia I saw the big bi-plane

AN-2 and my old old dream of airplanes started to play an important part of my life again.

I went back to Mongolia to get a ride on one of those bi-planes but due to the shortage of

hi-octane gas all the bi-planes at Ulaan Baator airport were grounded for good,

As far as I have checked on the web this giant bi-plane is still flying in some countries,

so maybe in the near future I might get a ride, who knows.

Last year I had the chance to travel to the US to California to buy materials for my work

and I took this opportunity to go to Mesa Arizona to see Mr Nat Puffer. He was very kind

enough to accept me and gave me a ride on his lovely Cozy MK4 over the airspace of

Mesa Arizona, and it was one of the happiest moments of my life . I asked him if he can

sell me the plans he said OK,and thus my life is now soaked in airplane from day to day.

My desire to build an Cozy Mk4 is increasing day by day, as I read the cozy mailing list

everyday, with ,many brilliant predecessors who are willing to exchange their knowhows,

I am confident that I will build it one day,but I still have to get my private pilots license,

I have set the date to acquire my license at next year spring, a nice gentleman from

Atlanta Georgia, Mr. B.Whipkey has introduced me to a nice flying school there and I am

pretty sure that I will go there for the schooling if all goes well. So Happy flying !!
