本名 松本 易夫。 東京都生まれ。 アルトサックスの巨匠。 明治大学在学中よりジャズ界にデビュー。ジャズ、ボサノバ、リズム&ブルースなど、幅広いレパートリーと高度なテクニックを誇る。 TV、ラジオ、FMライブコンサートに出演。 アルトサックスの持つ音色の繊細さとテナーサックスの豪快さを合わせ持ち、パワフル、そしてボリューム感のあるパインサウンドのステージは、聞く人をうならせる。Vocalはディジー・ガレスビーを思わせ、名ジョッキーぶりも見事なものである。 また、その人間性においても、明るく、楽しく、おしゃれで謙虚な人格者である。 私の好きな、ソニー・ロリンズ、ベン・ウェブスター、チャーリー・パーカー、フィル・ウッズと肩を並べる生まれながらのエンターティナー、そして天才音楽家である。 特にLIVEで聴く"Europa"は圧巻である。 日本一!!
Richard Pine (real name Yasuo Matsumoto), born in Tokyo, is a great master of the alto saxophone. He made his debut in the jazz world while he was at Meiji University. He is known for his wide repertoire from jazz to bosa nova, rhythm and blues, etc. and his high technique. Richard Pine has been featured on TV, radio, and FM live concerts many times. He impresses audiences with both the delicate tones of his alto saxophone and its more energizing power resembling that of a tenor saxophone. This makes his "pine sound" especially powerful and dynamic. His vocal performance reminds us of Dizzy Gillespie. He also makes an excellent disc jockey. Richard Pine is a pleasant , cheerful, chic and humble person of character. At the same time he is a born entertainer and master musician on par with my favorites; Sonny Rollins, Ben Webster, Charlie Parker, and Phil Woods. His number "Europa" at a live performance was among the very best. |
